Empathy Fatigue

This workshop will help participants understand the impact of empathy fatigue/vicarious trauma. We will demonstrate how a person-centered and strength-based approach decreases stress and minimizes empathy fatigue. Participants will be given time to assess their risk, do some self-reflection, and learn new strategies for handling empathy fatigue.

This presentation will offer tips and guidance as it relates to access and exposure to inappropriate content, online privacy, cyberbullying, talking with youth about responsible internet use, and responding to concerns about their online safety.

This workshop will discuss social media and how it affects child exploitation. Topics include different social media platforms, trends, ways in which these platforms are used, and how our youth may be targeted by traffickers.

How Tobacco Companies Use Advertising Campaigns to Target LGBTQ+ Youth

This presentation will focus on the deceptive and dangerous advertising strategies that tobacco companies use to target LGBTQ+ youth and what prevention providers and young people can do to counter the effects. We will also learn how Reality Check can help and have time for questions.

Intro to the Community Resiliency Model (CRM) — We all need it!

We will learn the theory and key concepts of CRM and get suggestions for widening our own "resilient zones" as well as helping those we walk beside. Theory will include a brief overview of how resiliency is connected to our nervous system. We will also practice some CRM skills during this workshop.

QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer)

QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer, the three simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. QPR is an emergency mental health intervention. At the conclusion of the training, participants will be able to: recognize the warning signs of suicide, know how to offer hope, and know how to save a life.

Cultural Responsiveness and the Refugee and Immigrant Community

This training in Cultural Responsiveness is designed to help participants develop the skills necessary to interact with and serve the refugee and immigrant community. Developing and Disseminating Public Health Prevention Messages

Learn about the development and implementation of an innovative and holistic approach to suicide prevention in schools from Pre-K-12th grade. The Cannabis Puzzle - Putting the Pieces Together
