The workshop will begin as a lecture to bring people up to speed, then we will break out into small groups to come up with ideas.
How Social Media Affects Child Exploitation

Social Determinants of Health - Why They Apply to Substance Use

QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer, the three simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. QPR is an emergency mental health intervention. After the training, participants will be able to: recognize the warning signs of suicide, know how to offer hope, and know how to save a life. Participants will also learn how to refer a friend, family member, colleague, or anyone else in need to the necessary mental health professional.

The Ripple Effect of Well-Being

Participants will explore how their personal wellness impacts the wellness of those around them, especially in the workplace and within their communities. They will also learn strategies to improve their wellness so they can positively impact those around them. This workshop will be highly interactive and resonate most with people who work and interact with others regularly. Participants will be asked to share personal stories about how others have impacted their well-being; engage in small groups to practice really listening to others; and explore together what qualities a good colleague embodies. Each participant will receive a workbook to help guide them through the activities and to use as a resource following the workshop.
